The Memorial Service Celebrating and Honoring the life of Susane “Susie” Scott Colvin, of Enid, will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 12, in the Ponca City Church, 701 W. Chestnut Ave., Ponca City.
Susane was born on Nov. 8, 1958, the daughter of Gilbert and Patricia (Underkofler) Scott, and brought up in the Christian faith in Winfield, Kansas. She passed from this life on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at Enid Senior Care, Enid, Oklahoma.
As a young girl, Susie loved to play basketball and learned to ride English sidesaddle. At the young age of 16 she also became accomplished with the M3 Rifle and passed military qualifications. She expressed fond memories of “painting the town” as a little girl going to area dances with her grandparents. Susie, known as Scotty during school, graduated in 1979 from Winfield High School. Susie was employed in the caregiving field for many years at different facilities in Oklahoma and also worked at Albertsons Distribution Center from 1993 to 1998. Susie had an intense love for nature and would often take her kids camping and fishing. She enjoyed traveling as much as she could, and she never met a stranger during her travels. She was always kind and generous to everyone she met. While traveling, she always made time to visit her loved ones and adored spending time with her grandkids.
She is survived by her father, Gilbert Scott, of Winfield, Kan., her mother, Patricia Riffe, of Independence, Kan.; brother, Lynn Scott, of Chanute, Kan.; sister, Dianna and husband Jim Spurlock, of McMinnville, Ten., and sister, Pamela Hutson, of Ponca City, Okla.; daughter, Jennifer and husband Jason Johnson, of Kaw City, Okla., son, Scott Poling and wife Melissa, of Ponca City, Okla., son, Dallas Ryan and husband Josh Walton, of Blackwell, Okla. and daughter, Kelby Colvin and fiancé Matt Linschoten, of Brookings, Ore. Susie is also lovingly survived by five grandchildren, Tripp, Nadia, Elijah, Emmalyn, and Madilyn and her beloved grand dog Buttercup.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Orie and Bernice Underkofler and Agnes and Dana Scott, and her step-mother, Ethyl Scott.
