Johnnie Colvin

August 17, 1926 ~ May 27, 2004

Funeral services will be held in the Erickson and Brown Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, June 3, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. for Johnnie Colvin, 77. Rev. Mark Fitzsimmons will officiate at the service and burial will follow in the West Side District Cemetery.

Mr. Colvin was born in Sallisaw, Oklahoma, on August 17, 1926. He was a resident of the Valley and Dustin Acres area for 18 years. Johnnie passed away peacefully on May 27, 2004 and he is now reunited in Heaven with his wife, Willie "Jean" Colvin and his youngest son, Delmar. Johnnie was a cotton farmer for many years, yet he is best remembered for his jolly spirit and the gardening of tomatoes and okra. Johnnie was certainly blessed by God with a green thumb.

Mr. Colvin is survived by his daughter and her husband, Joyce and Rick Blue of Dustin Acres; his son, Rickey Colvin; his grandchildren, Lindsey Blue of Dustin Acres and Christopher Colvin of Bakersfield. Earl Colvin of Arizona and J.B. Colvin; his sister, June Collins of Oklahoma and by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

His loving heart and sense of humor will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Optimal Hospice in Mr. Colvin's name.

Those who wish to pay their respects may do so on Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and on Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to service time at the Erickson & Brown Funeral Home, Taft.
