Arnollene Collyar

Arnollene Collyar
July 29, 1943 ~ May 13, 2025

Arnollene Collyar, 81, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, passed away on May 13, 2025. She was born in Drumright, Oklahoma, on July 29, 1943, to Arnol Adnair Collyar and Velma Mae (Reeder) Collyar. She was raised by Julia (White) Collyar and Anna Collyar in Drumright, who instilled in her the importance of family.

She met her future husband, Lloyd Raibourn, at the age of 16 at the Tower Theatre. Arnollene graduated from Drumright High School in 1961 and married Lloyd that September 1st. They had two children, Rhonda Owings and Regina Yauger, and made their home in Drumright before moving to Broken Arrow in 1975.

Arnollene spent 20 years of her career working for Metropolitan Life Insurance, where she retired as an underwriter in 1995. When at home, she loved to craft, winning first place at the Tulsa State Fair with her adult crocheted afghan in 2000 and second place at the Tulsa Ceramic Show.

She later married Ronald Holderness on December 7, 1996. The two travelled the country, built an extensive garden, and loved many cats. After Ron’s death, she reconnected with her first husband Lloyd and the two lived together until the time of her death.

Arnollene spent her life as a caregiver and loving, but tough matriarch. In old age and ill health, she cared for her grandmother Julia, aunt Anna, mother Velma, and two husbands. Her capacity for care and service was seemingly bottomless, and her greatest lesson for those blessed to know her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arnol and Velma Collyar, her grandparents Jasper Newton and Julia (White) Collyar, Joe Reeder and Jewell (Selby) Reeder, her aunt Anna Collyar, her brother Dale Collyar, and her second husband Ronald Holderness.

She is survived by her first husband, Lloyd Raibourn; daughter Rhonda Owings and her husband Roger Owings; daughter Regina Yauger and her husband Larry Yauger; step-daughter Deborah & Ron Norton; brother Jewt Collyar and his wife Susan; sister-in-law Jeannie Collyar; Grandchildren, Heather Monterusso and her husband Chris Monterusso, Brent Elsheimer and his wife Shea Cramer-Elsheimer, Tristan Loveless, Kaitlyn Loveless, Grayson Yauger, Eric Yauger, Jeremy Owings, Tim Owings, Aaron Owings and his wife Julia Owings, Dawn Dunham and Austin Norton; Great-grandchildren, Sydney, Kyen, Laine, Sophia, Kailey, Emilee, Dax, Bryant, and Meara; also, her beloved dog James, who never left her side, as well as many extended family members.
