Linda Jo Collins age 67 of Newcastle, passed away Monday, January 13, 2014 at Southwest Medical Center in OKC. She was born November 21, 1946 in Chickasha, OK. She was the oldest of five children born to Odis Deal Fulton and Genevia Jo (Hendrickson) Fulton.
Linda grew up in the Putnam City area before moving to Newcastle her Sophomore year of high school. She graduated from Newcastle High School with the class of 1965 and then moved to Dallas, Texas to go to work.
For several years she worked for Eastman Kodak where she did film processing. She then worked in the grocery business for nearly 30 years in Dallas, working for Food Basket and later Kroger's.
While in Dallas she met and married the love of her life, Jerry Layne Collins. They were married on July 27, 1968 in Newcastle but continued living in Dallas until 1997. At that time they moved back to Newcastle to be close to her family.
While living in Newcastle, Linda worked in OKC for Jack Henry and Associates as a check processor in the banking industry. She retired at the age of 62.
Linda was a Christian and attended the First Baptist Church in Newcastle for many years. She loved doing genealogy work, tracking down her family tree. She enjoyed doing crafts but her favorite pastime was entering give away and sweepstakes contests. Over the years she won numerous free travel and vacation trips as well as money. Some of her free trips she offered to her mother and sisters to enjoy. She will be remembered as a wonderful wife and daughter, a dear sister and a special aunt. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by: Husband: Jerry Collins of the home, Mother: Genevia Fulton of Newcastle, 3 sisters: Virginia Fulton of Norman, Debbie Egbert and husband Bobby of VA. Phyllis Campbell and husband Harvey of Slaughterville, Aunt: Joyce Covington of CA, 2 uncles: Glenn Hendrickson and wife Wanda of OKC, Eugene Hendrickson and wife Paula of CA, 7 nieces and nephews, 4 great nieces and nephews Several cousins and other loving relatives and friends.
A Memorial service will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 17, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Newcastle. Arrangements are by Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Newcastle.
