J H "Jay" Collins, 86, of Midwest City passed away May 2, 2012. Jay was born in Hugo Oklahoma to John and Mary Collins. He was raised in Antlers, Oklahoma where he worked helping his dad on the family farm. He went to school and graduated from Rattan school system.
As an adult, Jay came to Oklahoma City and worked for the Metropolitan Paving Company, opened his own welding shop and worked as a long distance truck driver before retiring. He was also a member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Midwest City.
He married Lucille Mayes and they enjoyed life together for 11" years.
Jay was preceded in death by his parents, and son Darrell Collins.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille, of the home; daughter, Louise Smith and husband Ronnie B. Smith, Sr.; step children, Ramona Foster, Darlene Galyon, Debbie Epperson and husband John; Theresa Mayes and husband Tom; grandsons, Tyler Jester, Neal Smith, Ronnie Smith, Jr.; granddaughter, Tiffany Mayes and fianc"e Robert McGaugh; step grandchildren, Phil Galyon, Scotty Galyon, Darla Drake, Greg Foster, great grandchildren, Meaghan, Lauren, Natalie, Heather, Trey, Stephanie, Sam, Rosie, Hope, Cade, Lain, Chessie and Skye as well as great great grandchildren and numerous friends and family members.
