Steve Collier was born in Woodward, Okla. Sept. 17, 1953 and was accepted into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Aug. 18, 2013.
The son of Willard and Nova Collier, he graduated from Stroud Public Schools in 1971.
He continued his education at Oklahoma State University, graduating with an agricultural degree in 1975. After teaching two years at John Marshall High School, Steve worked an additional two years at The Oklahoma State Extension Service. He then dedicated the following 31 years to the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce, which included 16 years as the Executive Director of The Oklahoma City Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Upon retiring from the Chamber in 2011, Steve went back into education as a substitute teacher in the Mustang and Mid-Del School Districts.
Steve married the love of his life, Marsha Hendrick, in 1971. Out of this union was born three wonderful sons. He was a member of Meadowood Baptist Church and was a lover of family, football, animals and the Midwest City Bombers.
Steve was preceded in death by his mother in-law and father in-law, Gerald and Delora Hendrick, brother in-law, Bill Hodges, great neice, Meeghan Hodges, and his two dogs, Rudy and Callie.
He is survived by his parents, Willard and Nova Collier of Midwest City, OK; His wife of 42 years (girlfriend of 56 years) Marsha Collier, son Chris Collier and wife Donna of Midwest City, OK; son Andy Collier and wife Krista of Mustang, OK; and son Brad Collier and wife Amber of Choctaw, OK. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren; Easton, Annalyn, Abby, Merrick, Anderson, Ainsley, Marlee & baby girl due in February. He is also survived by his three sisters in-law and brothers in-law, Sondra and Leo Alley of Ardmore, OK, Jerry Hodges of Grand Prairie, TX, and Debbie and Kent Epling of Midwest City, OK; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
