Patricia Eloise “Pat” “GG” (McGuire) Collett, 96, of Shawnee, Oklahoma went to her eternal heavenly home on Friday May 5, 2023.
Pat was born November 4, 1926 in Idabel Oklahoma to Lewis Freemont McGuire and Gladys (Fulmer) McGuire.
She was raised in Idabel and had a loving stepfather, Roy Hodges. At age 9 during a tent revival in Idabel, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. (Romans 10:9)
Pat was a loving wonderful mother to her six children: Pat Beason, Carlsbad, New Mexico; Corky (Janell) Ray, St. Martinville, Louisiana; Becky (Gary) Slate, Shawnee, Oklahoma; Bill (Vicki) Maddux, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Rick Maddux, Carlsbad, New Mexico; Meredith Maddux (Debbie Morgan) Thornton, Colorado.
Pat married Bob Collett on July 14, 1979 in Shawnee. His three children were added to the family: Judy Jones, Cathy Gossett and Cheryl Vickers. Pat and Bob spent 35 wonderful years together, especially their retirement years of traveling, spending time with family and playing cards with family and friends.
Pat was a member of Sharon Baptist Church. She dearly loved her Pastor Clint Dawkins and the staff. Her sweet friends there were always so encouraging.
As she entered the gates of Glory she was reunited with her parents, Lewis and Gladys, stepfather, Roy, her only sibling, Lilah Ward and precious granddaughter, Deana Shay, beloved husband, Bob and son-in-law, Roger Beason.
Sweet Pats Legacy are her 6 children, 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren.
A very special Thank You to the wonderful hospice staff at Heartland for your kindness and compassion on this long journey. Mama Pat loved you all!
Visitation for family and friends will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, May 7, 2023 at Cooper Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held at a later date at Carlsbad Cemetery in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Arrangements under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
