Eugene "Gene" Coleman
July 25, 1935 ~ March 04, 2017

Eugene Coleman passed from this life March 4, 2017 at his home in Arnett, Oklahoma with his family at his side. He was 81 years of age. Born on July 25, 1935 to Dewey and Elnora Nimmer Coleman at Dermott, Arkansas, Gene attended South End Public Schools and St. Bartholomew's Catholic Church in Little Rock where he was baptized in 1952.

On March 4, 1954, he joined the United States Marine Corp. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal while proudly serving his country until his honorable discharge on March 3, 1956.

Gene was united in marriage to Bobbie Jean Jackson on May 10, 1964 in Reno, Nevada. Four children blessed this union: Eric, Kacy, Jabari, and Michelle. Gene worked as a scrub technician and a heavy equipment operator. The family lived in East Palo Alta, California, Santa Clara, California, San Jose, California and Las Vegas, Nevada before moving to Arnett in 2012.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and one brother. He is survived by his wife, Bobbie, of the home in Arnett, sons, Eric of Midland, Michigan, Kacy and his wife Karla of Las Vegas, Nevada, Jabari and his wife Robin of Arnett, Oklahoma, and daughter Michelle of Chicago, Illinois. Two sisters, Verlee Coleman of Lansing, Michigan, Irma Mills of St. Louis, Missouri and one brother, Herbert Coleman of Miami, Florida. Ten grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
