Barbara Elaine (Phillips) Coleman was born on December 20, 1948 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, to Raymond and Alza (Farmer) Phillips and departed this life on Saturday, July 6, 2019 in Muskogee, Oklahoma, at the age of 70 years, 6 months and 16 days.
In her younger days, and while her health permitted, she enjoyed riding horses, fishing and playing Bingo. Barbara never met a stranger; she always had a smile and hello for those she met. She worked for Walmart and Rowan’s IGA in Stilwell, and Hill’s Superette and Harps Food Store in Westville over the years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Alza (Farmer) Phillips and a brother, James (Jim) Phillips.
Barbara is survived by her son, Matthew Coleman and wife, Joy, of Gentry, Ark.., two grandsons; Scott Coleman of Colcord, and Mason Coleman, of Gentry, Ark.; sister; Pat Bruner, of Stilwell, and brother, Gary Phillips and wife, Cindy, of Wagoner, and her good friend, Samuel Carnes of Tahlequah. Several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive her. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
A memorial service was held July 10, 2019 at Christian Worship Center, Stilwell, with Bro. Marty Jones officiating. Services were entrusted to the care of Roberts/Reed- Culver Funeral Home, Stilwell
