Jean (Lytle) Cole
October 30, 1928 ~ January 5, 2019

Jean Cole, 90, of Medicine Lodge, Kansas, died Saturday, January 5, 2019, at her home.

Jean was born on October 30, 1928, in Larned, Kansas, the daughter of Floyd and Grace (Hathaway) Lytle. The family moved to Dodge City, Kansas, in 1935, then to Great Bend, Kansas, in 1940.

On July 8, 1945, she married Norman Thompson. In 1962 they moved to Medicine Lodge. This marriage ended in 1966.

In 1969, Jean married Lloyd Cole. She was a clerk at Ben Franklin Store and Rodgers Grocery. Retiring in 1973, Jean and Lloyd enjoyed traveling.

After Lloyd's death in 1994, Jean continued to travel with her children and sisters. Jean was a member of the Assembly of God Church.

Surviving are one son, Kenneth Thompson of Greeley, Colorado; one daughter, Peggy Lipscomb of Park City, Kansas; one son-in-law, Walt Tillotson of Medicine Lodge, Kansas; eight grandchildren, Shawn Tillotson, Teresa Hargett, Tammy (Paul) Hargett, Vanessa Tibbets, Matt Lipscomb, Melissa (Clint) Baier, Geoffrey (Sara) Thompson, and Heather Thompson; 15 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruth McLemore of Medicine Lodge, Kansas, numerous nieces and nephews.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter, Pat Tillotson; her twin brothers; and her sisters, Marjorie Gorham, Burneeta Chapman, Nila Crisman, and Betty Deines.

Funeral services will be on Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at 11 a.m. at Larrison Funeral Home, Medicine Lodge, Kansas, with Clint Tyler officiating.

Burial will be in the Highland Cemetery, Medicine Lodge.

Memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in care of the funeral home.
