Bobby Allen Colbert

Bobby Allen Colbert
January 20, 1970 ~ May 17, 2013

Bobby passed away May 15, 2013. He was born January 20, 1970 in Minnville, Oregon to James and Julia Colbert.

Bobby was raised in Jay, OK and graduated fro Jay High School.

Bobby was a man who had a great zeal for life as he LOVED to laugh and enjoy time with his family, friends and dogs. As a fierce protector of those he loved, on the inside he had the heart of gold that was soft as any teddy bear. He would share his favorite reminiscences some of which were being on the sheriff"s department in Delaware County, being chased by water snake hybrids on various lakes around Jay, Oklahoma and driving FAST in his Maverick. Growing up in Jay, his friends always meant a lot to him and he truly enjoyed time spent with them especially if he was able to help them in any way.

Bobby had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, his Lord and as a result a great servant"s heart with a loving desire to share with all who came into his path. As a husband he was a great listener, companion and friend.

He was married to Tonya on July 18, 2009, not long enough, but they had great joy knowing each other and in their marriage. If you knew Bobby well, you knew he had a great stubborn streak with a matching temper and he was always amazed how Tonya would stand up to him with no qualms, fears or issues and was just as, or possibly more, stubborn. He confessed to her last week that he was "seeing the light" concerning his temper, after watching her "tell him off" in a normal voice and a big smile on her face, and that he was going to work harder to learn her technique" she knew that it would be a long road for him to learn her technique but she knew he wanted to control that particular impulsive side. Tonya"s words are, "I take great joy in knowing he loved me with all his heart and I will never forget how cherished I would feel when he would wrap his arms around me. I am so very thankful you are no longer suffering and that you are at peace with the Lord and praise God that you are a Christian, I will see you again someday. I promised you I would be OK if you had to go and for you, I will go on living and keep my word but I will miss you with every breath I breathe." Bobby was loved by so many people and words will never do justice to the hole he is leaving in our hearts. Bobby would want everyone to keep on living your life to the fullest and make and keep God the center of your life. He will always be watching smiling and mostly laughing with his infectious laugh!

Bobby is survived by his wife Tonya Colbert, mother Julia Colbert, sister Linda Robbins and husband Darrin, twin brother William and wife Peggy, nephew John Kuharich and wife Shandala, nieces Elizabeth Kuharich, Jessica Kuharich and husband Phillip, Kaydee Colbert, Jaini Colbert and Sarah Colbert, and various aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, James Colbert.
