Leonard B. Coker

Leonard Coker passed away on Friday, April 2, 2004, in Santa Monica, CA, as the age of 75.

He was born on July 20, 1928, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Leonard Benjamin and Gladys Coker. In 1940 he moved with his family to Delano, CA where he attended school. He served in the Navy from 1946-1947 in the South Pacific. He received an honorable discharge. He moved to Santa Monica, CA in 1971, where he worked for many years as a bartender and of recent years operated a taxi cab and organized Personal Touch Tours to Laughlin, NV.

He is survived by his wife, Ramona Coker. Also, his five children: his four sons, Donie Bletcher and his wife, Risa of Weldon, CA, Larry Parks and his wife, June of Choctaw, OK, Dennis Coker of Turlock, CA, Charles Coker and his wife, Linda of Republic, MO; and his only daughter, Cynthia Pierzina and her husband, Dean of Fresno, CA. Also, Leonard's pride and joy were his 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

For many years he enjoyed dancing at the Blackboard Nightclub with his many friends in Bakersfield, CA. He loved to travel to Mexico and Canada.

Visitation will be held at Lane Family Funeral Home, 1303 Glenwood, Delano, CA, on Wednesday, April 7, 2004, at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Graveside Service at North Kern Cemetery District, 627 Austin Street, Delano, CA on Wednesday, April 7, 2004, at 2:00 p.m.
