Robert "Bob" Marvin Cody, 88, died October 18, 2018 in Bartlesville surrounded by family. He was born March 15, 1930 in Jerome, AZ.
Bob attended the University of Cincinnati in Ohio, where he graduated in 1953 with a B.S. degree in chemical engineering. He was active in ROTC and the Wesleyan Foundation.
Bob married Roberta Dixie Buttolph, August 8, 1952 in California. They celebrated 66 years together.
He was a second lieutenant in the Army, stationed at Ft. Sill, OK for two years.
He was employed with Phillips Petroleum for 30 years, working in Borger, TX, Bartlesville, OK, Kansas City, KS, Stavanger, Norway before returning to Bartlesville where he retired in 1985.
He is survived by his wife, Dixie, and son Ron Cody, McPherson, KS; daughter Rhonda and Nathan Stillwell, Arlington, KS; son Randy and Kay Cody, Ft Worth, TX; 5 grandchildren: Nicholas Stillwell and wife Jodie, Erika Stillwell Shugart and husband John, Elyse Cody, Daniel Cody and Noah Cody. 4 great grandchildren: Lydia and Evan Stillwell and Emma and Will Shughart.
He is predeceased by his youngest daughter Roberta "Robbi" Cody on August 18, 2018, Bartlesville, his father, Ernest Cody, mother, Helen Cody Sims, step-father William Sims, in-laws Col. Loren & Lillian Buttolph.
He was a member of East Cross United Methodist Church.
Bob loved his family. He leaves a rich legacy. He was a man of faith, hope and love. His grandkids call him wise, kind, generous and loving. He enjoyed reading and working with computers.
A private, family memorial service was held October 20th at East Cross United Methodist Church, led by Pastor Jeff Burress.
Burial will be at Lerado Cemetery in Lerado, KS.
