Mr. Larry Ray Codding, 65, of Copan, died at 9:35 P.M. on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at his home in rural Copan.
Funeral services for Mr. Codding will be held at 1 P.M. on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at the Cornerstone Church of Caney, located at 259-399 East 10th Ave., in Caney, Kansas with Chaplain Jsue Wagner of Comforting Hands Hospice officiating. Interment will be in the Sunnyside Cemetery at Caney directed by the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.
Friends who wish may call for visitation at the Stumpff Funeral Home from 9 A.M. until 8 P.M. on Monday thru Wednesday and the Codding family will receive guests at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M.
Larry was born in Bartlesville, Oklahoma on June 8, 1951 the son of Glen Maurice Codding and Mary Ann (Noblitt) Codding. He grew up in the Copan area where he graduated from Copan High School in 1969 where he played football and basketball. He then attended NEO at Miami where he played basketball and received his Associates Degree in Accounting.
He was employed at Reda Pump in Bartlesville until his employment with Phillips Petroleum Company. He was a Finance & Accounting Associate with Phillips for 30 years until his retirement in 2014. Mr. Codding was married to Diana Lynn Engelbert on May 6, 1989 at the Copan Baptist Church and they have made their home at Copan since that time. He loved to fish, mow the lawn and to play golf at the Caney Country Club where he looked forward to the Friday night scrambles. He was also an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan, the # 1 OU Football fan and loved spending time with his family and kids.
Larry is survived by his wife, Diana of Copan, four sons, Kenny Codding of Oklahoma City/Copan, Travis Codding and wife Misty of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Shane Codding and fiancé, Ashley of Irvine, California, and Cody Codding and wife Olivia of Copan, two sisters, Gwen Engelbert and husband Donald of Copan and Debbie Hough of Bartlesville, five grandchildren, Courtney Codding, Travis Codding Jr., Taylor Codding, Nikki Codding and Will Codding.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
