December 4, 1956 ~ July 19, 2020

William Kimsey Cochran, 63, of Dripping Springs, Texas, passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2020.

Kim was born in Marietta on December 4, 1956, the son of the late William “Bud” and Aria Cochran. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Harriet, two daughters, Aria and Gwen, and sister, Carol Ann.

He was a lifelong adventurer and spent his early years exploring the Oklahoma wilderness with the local Boy Scouts chapter. He took up scuba diving with his wife, enjoyed camping with his daughters, and swimming in Lake Murray with his dogs. He had a passion for world travel and explored over 11 countries with his family. At just 48 years old, Kim took up motorcycle riding and raced at the Circuit of the Americas and the California Superbike School.

He was a believer in the power of education and graduated with an MBA from St. Edwards University. Over his 26-year career at O’Connell Robertson, Kim held several leadership positions with a focus on project delivery and construction administration. He was ultimately appointed Chief Operating Officer and Co-CEO and make a powerful impact on the community through improving healthcare and education opportunities in Texas.

Kim loved collecting vinyl records and had an ever-growing eclectic taste in music. He spent his free time learning new skills such as building a Ford Model-T, woodworking, and astronomy. He was incredibly kind and a rare person; his friends and family will miss him dearly.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 25 in the Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home Chapel, Marietta with Dr. Alton Fannin officiating.

The family suggests memorial donations be given to the Lone Star Chapter of the Sierra Club in Kim’s honor @ www.sierraclub.org/texas.
