Patricia Joan (Woodard) Cobb

Patricia Joan (Woodard) Cobb
January 21, 1936 ~ June 12, 2016

Patty Cobb, 80, retired elementary school teacher and counselor, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 12, 2016 surrounded by family. ~ Patty was born on January 21, 1936 at the family home in Bartlesville to parents Darrell and Ruth (Gavellas) Woodard.

On June 27, 1958 Patty married Don Cobb at the First Baptist Church in Dewey. Don passed away on July 2, 1971.

After her husband passed away, Patty enrolled in Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK. She was there for three years, earning both a Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree in Education. Patty first taught at Central Middle School, then worked at Jane Phillips Elementary as both a Teacher and Counselor. She then took a job as Counselor with the Dewey Schools, retiring from there in 1996. For many years Patty worked a second job on nights and weekends as a receptionist and phone operator for Jane Phillips Medical Center.

Patty was a nurturer and a caretaker; she was a difference maker, in the lives of many, both young and old. She was the matriarch of her family, and they were always her greatest source of pride. Family was the most important things to Patty, and she loved having cookouts and get togethers with them. She enjoyed spending time with her siblings and cherished her time spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Patty is survived by her two sons, Mike Cobb and partner Joe Pomeroy of Dewey, and Larry Cobb and wife Debbie of Bartlesville; Granchildren Dustin Cobb and wife Jessie, Khylee Kirkpatrick and husband Lafe, Cory Cobb, Tanner Cobb, and Taylor Cobb; Great-Grandchildren Dylan Cobb, Rilee Daniels, Austin Cobb, Avery Cobb and Brogan Kirkpatrick; her sisters, Shirley May, Barbara McClune, Jocelyn Inda, and Beverly Bolen all of Dewey; and brothers, Charles Woodard of Dallas, Texas, and Ron Woodard of Dewey. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and extended family. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.

Viewing will begin Wednesday, with the family receiving friends from 6pm to 8pm Wednesday night at the Stumpff Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be 10:00 am, Thursday, June 16, 2016 at City Church of Bartlesville. Funeral Services and Cremation under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home and Crematory.
