Norma Jean (Taylor) Clubine

July 18, 1940 ~ September 5, 2024

Norma Jean Clubine of Mounds, OK, went to be with the Lord on September 5, 2024, surrounded by her children at the age of 84.

Jean was born on July 18th, 1940 in Evening Shade, Arkansas to Owen and Pauline Taylor. She spent her days reading books, learning to bake with her mom, and dodging BB gun shots from Don, or “Punky” as she affectionally called her little brother.

She participated in spelling bees and playing ping pong while in grade school.

After graduating from Southside High School as Salutatorian in 1958, Jean took up a job at a law office for a short time, then found a career in banking starting as a teller. Soon after, she welcomed her three children with her husband Ray Neil, Pam, Randy and Steve. They were her world up until her very last day, and she would go on and on about how proud she was of them. In 1972, Jean and Ray Neil moved their family to Bixby where she began to build her roots in Oklahoma. Jean continued to work in banking while raising her children to be successful adults.

After retiring from Arvest Bank, Jean spent most of her free time with her granddaughters taking them shopping, attending their school events, and even being sure to schedule regular lunches with them as adults to make sure she was keeping up with all they had going on. Jean also enjoyed baking yummy treats and hosting all of the family events. Some of her favorite past times were arguing about politics, watching Jeopardy, playing cards, baking, gardening, and most importantly, spending time with her family. Everyone knew Jean loved having her glass bottles of Coke in the fridge, she always had a container of Cool Whip ready for eating, and always had to add nuts to her desserts. She was overjoyed when she became a great grandmother and loved visits from all of her great grandkids. She was so excited to meet the next addition to the family and would have loved to spoil her newest great grand baby.

Jean is preceded in death by her parents, Owen and Pauline Taylor.

Jean is survived by her brother Don Taylor and sister in law Nancy Taylor, children Pam Fulbright, Randy Fulbright and daughter in law, Cheryl Fulbright, Steve Fulbright, grandchildren Crystal McCawley and husband Billy McCawley, Amber Hogue and husband Michael Hogue Jr, Taylor Fulbright, Marissa Fulbright, Lindsey Ross and husband Gavin Ross, and great grandchildren Tinlie, Reagan, and Grayson McCawley, and great grand baby on the way, Owen Ross.
