George Manning Close

George Manning Close
September 18, 1931 ~ June 20, 2015 (age 83)

G.. Manning Close passed away early Saturday morning, June 20, 2015. His family was with him. He was born to Juanda and Floyd Close on September 18, 1931. Preceding him in death was a sister Jo and a brother Jack.

Manning attended Taft Senior High and Old Classen High School. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity serving as President and Pledge Trainer and was a Big Man on Campus.

Manning founded and was Chairman of GMC Oil and Gas in Oklahoma City, OK. He loved his life’s profession.

He is survived by his wife Jane and their three sons, Matt, Todd and Craig. He is also survived by three grandsons, Jason, Josh and Chris and their families giving them five great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be private with no viewing.
