David Lee Clodfelter, age 75, went home to be with Our Lord and Savior on January 17, 2020, at the family farm in Stillwater, OK in the home that he lovingly built for his wife and family.
David was born on June 14, 1944 at home in Covington, OK. He was the last of three children born to Maurice and Ruby (Stout) Clodfelter. He grew up around the Stillwater area, attending grade school at Hayward Schools, and later coming from a class of 3 to 500 when he transferred and graduated from Stillwater High School. After graduation, he attended Oklahoma State Tech at Okmulgee graduating top of his class with the highest grade point average of the 170 member class. After graduation, David returned to Stillwater to continue working with his dad in the carpentry business. During this time of his life, he was introduced to Mary Ann Etheridge the red head he fell madly in love with. After exchanging letters, while in boot camp for the United States Army, he married her on June 22, 1968 at Eden Chapel.
David and Mary Ann lived in their first home in Stillwater until their oldest daughter, Nancy Ann was born, and later the family moved to Geronimo, Oklahoma and several other small towns from Oklahoma to Texas, adding Wendy Marie to the family in Hobart, Oklahoma. During David’s lifetime, he worked many different jobs but his passion was always working with wood. He was a carpenter at heart and built many things from the judge’s chambers in Comanche County, churches in Stillwater, countless cabinets and projects, and finishing the inside of his church’s outreach building. Along with his passion for carpentry, David enjoyed bowling in his earlier years, racing his 1967 Camaro, Goliath, and always spending time with his family. His favorite holiday was the 4th of July and he enjoyed shooting fireworks with his kids and grandkids (some of the kids still have the scars to prove it).
David is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Clodfelter of Stillwater, two daughters Nancy Miller and her husband, Scott Miller of Stillwater, and Wendy Blanco and her husband, Ivan Blanco of Olathe, Kansas and their four children, Hannah, Cameron, Alex, and Aaron. His sister, Margaret Wilbanks of Texas, and her husband Henry. As well as his nephews, Ted and Tom Sharp, and Mark and Mike Clodfelter.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Maurice and Ruby Clodfelter, his brother-in-law Jack Sharp, his brother Dale Clodfelter and sister-in-law Emma Faye Clodfelter.
