Stilwell resident Charles Arthur Cline passed away Saturday December 29, 2018 at the age of 69 years old. He was born to June and John Cline September 3, 1949 in Indianapolis, IN.
Charles was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather; known as Pop to his family and Chuck, Chaz, Charles or Charlie to his friends. He was also widely known and loved for his kind nature, sense of humor and phenomenal skills as a professional drummer having been an opening act for such bands as the Guess Who, Mason Williams, and many more.
He spent two years performing with Nashville on the Road throughout the Midwest and later made appearances on the Carol Burnett Show before launching a television show in Indianapolis. Charles resided in Sacramento, CA for thirty years where he further performed jazz tracks for MGM Studios before retiring to Stilwell in 2008 to be near his grandchildren.
Charles leaves behind a large family including his beloved wife of more than fifty years Darlyn and their daughter Anne Cline and partner Jeremy of Stilwell, their daughter Jessica VanBrocklin and her husband Paul of Sacramento, grandsons Josh Carmack of Tulsa, Davis, Paul, and Michael MacDougal of Stilwell, granddaughter Kayla Fore and husband Justin and great grandson Marshall of Sacramento. He is also survived by all of his siblings; sisters Lyn Pierson and husband Kenny of Jenks, Kellie Cline, Carol Hawkins and her husband Grant, Jody Dennerline and her husband Rick of Indianapolis as well as brothers Mark Cline of Stilwell and Bill Fox of Indianapolis, in addition to his nieces, nephews and beloved friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents John and June Cline, son-in-law David MacDougal IV and nephew Bing Hawkins.
A private celebration of Charles' life will be performed by Hospice Chaplain, Pastor and dear friend Bill Holcomb.
