Roger Stanley Clark was born October 4, 1950 in Ardmore, Oklahoma to Herbert Hoover Clark and Sally Jo (Skinner) Clark. His early years were spent in Healdton, Oklahoma where he was very well known along main street. He frequently made several stops at the downtown businesses on his way home from school. During his early grade school years, his family moved to Durant where his father began working for Murray Funeral Home. When Roger was old enough, he started helping his dad by washing cars and then graduated on to driving the ambulance and making calls for the funeral home. Determined not to follow in his dad's footsteps, after Roger graduated from SEOSU with a degree in business, began his working career. He finally realized his calling and went to mortuary school at UCO and for the last thirty plus years has served the funeral industry.
While at SEOSU, Roger was an original member of a select singing group, "The Chorvetts", where they were appointed the official goodwill ambassadors of Oklahoma. Performances took them to the Kiwanis International Convention as well as USO tours.
Roger began his career in funeral service at Bishop Funeral Home in McAlester and was owner of Clark Funeral Service in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. Roger was a member of the Oklahoma Funeral Directors Association, where he served as District 5 Chairman and Governor, National Funeral Directors Association, Tishomingo Lions Club, was a Mason and First Baptist Church of Tishomingo. Roger embraced his newest role of being a "Baba" with great pleasure.
Roger and the former Kimberly Ann Gardner were married on August 5, 2014 in Whitesboro, Texas.
Roger is survived by his wife Kim of the home, his mother Sally Clark of Durant, brother Kelly of Moore, daughter Lynze Naifeh and husband Brandon of Tishomingo, granddaughter Kynlee Martin, niece Traci Clark and nephew Ryan Clark. His father Herb Clark preceed him in death.
