Lana Gay Clark

Lana Gay Clark
June 3, 1955 ~ September 11, 2017

Lana Gay Clark, 62 of Stillwater, died unexpectedly Monday. She joins her savior Jesus Christ and husband Ray in heaven. She leaves behind her beloved children and grandchildren, family and friends who already miss her deeply.

Gay Clark was born the daughter of Floyd Ervin and Lillian Ann (Conley) Clark on June 3, 1955, in Biloxi, Mississippi. Gay moved with her family at a young age to Elk City where she attended school. She was an active member of the Elk City Rainbow Girls Assembly #19 and sang in the high school choir. She graduated high school in 1973. Gay went on to further her studies at Southwestern University in Weatherford, OK, where she met Walter Raymond Clark. Ray soon realized she was the love of his life and they were united in marriage on June 18, 1977. Once they both finished their degrees (his in Pharmacy and hers in Education with a minor in biological sciences), they made their home in Hugo for a short while before moving to Perkins and eventually her current home in Stillwater.

With two small children Gay started her 25 year career with Oklahoma State University at the Dean's office of the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology before finally retiring in 2015. Gay was a loving and faithful co-parent with Ray and she supported her boys' love for scouting which took up most of their time. When Ray passed unexpectedly in 2006, Gay found herself in an empty nest and she delved into the activities of the Eastern Star Chandler Chapter #139 accompanying her mother-in-law Norma Clark. Once retired, Gay volunteered with the American Red Cross and enjoyed singing in her church choir. Gay had many passions in life: she enjoyed sewing, collecting Christmas ornaments and sang gospel music. Over the years she was blessed to be involved in the lives of her grandchildren whom she deemed priceless.

Gay is survived by her two children, Timothy Ryan Clark and Gretchen of Louisiana, and Michael Ray Clark and Ashley of Edmond; her mother-in-law Norma Clark of Chandler; one brother Paul Clark and Danna of Yukon; four grandchildren, Tristan, Nevaeh, Payton and Gavin Clark; and a host of other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15, at the Perkins First United Methodist Church. Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home. Online condolences and remembrances may be shared with Gay's family at www.DavisFamilyFuneralHome.com.
