Donald Wayne Clark
February 14, 1956 ~ December 14, 2024

Donald Wayne Clark, 68, of Rose, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, December 14, 2024. He was born on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1956, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, to Jerry Madison and Katie Alice (Risenhoover) Clark.

Don grew up in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma, and attended Muskogee Public Schools. With a passion for mechanics, he pursued training as an automotive mechanic, dedicating his career to roles with K-Mart, Vogue Coach, and the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority. As well, he worked at Dawn Hill Golf Course and Richard’s Tire and Service, both in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. On June 30, 1995, Don married Dawn King in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, beginning a loving partnership that spanned over 29 years.

Don had a zest for life and a heart full of interests. He enjoyed reading, especially Louis L’Amour western novels, and relished time spent outdoors fishing and camping. He also had a talent for woodworking. An animal lover, he rescued many dogs throughout his life. Don had recently given his heart to Christ, bringing him and his loved one’s great comfort spiritually.

Known for his infectious smile, humor, and sometimes sarcastic wit, Don was always the one to make people laugh. He embraced life with youthful enthusiasm, trying anything new at least once—and sometimes twice. Don’s hobbies were as vibrant as his personality. He was a devoted train enthusiast who loved spending hours playing on the floor with his grandchildren. A true foodie, Don never passed up a good hamburger, hot bowl of soup, pot of jambalaya, or anything chocolate. Above all, he treasured his family and friends, loving them deeply. He will be missed.

Don is survived by: His wife, Dawn of the home; 4 children: Jess Clark and wife Traci of Collinsville, Oklahoma, Lindsay Bremer and husband Jeff of Omaha, Nebraska, Laura Pritchett of Westville, Oklahoma, and Jordan Hill and husband Austin of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; 10 grandchildren: Madison, Cleveland, Silas, Atlas, Meadow, James, Jacob, Ivy, Alice, and Savannah; 2 brothers: Jimmy Clark and wife Sonya of Goodlettsville, Tennessee and Alan Clark of Muskogee, Oklahoma; 2 nephews: Isaac Clark and Caleb Clark; 1 niece: Hannah Brown; As well as numerous other relatives and many friends; He was preceded in death by: his parents; 1 son: Dalton Bristol; along with several aunts and uncles.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at the First Baptist Church in Leach, Oklahoma, officiated by Reverend Clayton Moore. Cremation services are entrusted to Locust Grove Funeral Home. Thoughts, memories, and condolences may be shared at www.locustgrovefuneralhome.com.
