Funeral service for DeAlva Francis Clark, 96 will be Thursday, October 6, 2005 at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, Kiowa, Kan. The Rev. Wayne Stephens will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery near Kiowa. Arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home Inc., Kiowa. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home, with the family present from 10 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. today at the church.
She was born March 8, 1909 in Elmwood to Claude and Nettie Wilson McCune and died Sunday, October 2, 2005, at Kiowa Hospital District Manor.
She attended grade school at Elmwood and graduated from Beaver High School in 1929.
She married Walter Reece Clark October 10, 1937, in Cherokee. They made their home north of Kiowa. He died in 1988.
She worked at Quality Clothiers in Cherokee, and in 1960 opened Clark�s Fabric Shop in Kiowa. She was a member of Kiowa United Methodist Church and active in United Methodist Women. She also was a member of Pleasant Hour Club, HDU Club, and was a 4-H clothing leader.
Surviving are her daughter, Carol Sue Meyer of Hazelton; one brother, Ralph H. McCune of Beaver; two granddaughters; and two great-granddaughters.
In addition to her husband, Walter, she was preceded by one sister and two bothers.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Southwind Hospice of Pratt, Kan. Alpha of Clovia, Kan., or 4-H Foundation, Kansas State University.
