Betty Lou Ciarla, born May 24th, 1932 passed away this November 6, 2023.
She was a lifelong resident of the Enid, OK area. After Enid High School burned down she attended and graduated from the Enid Business College, later to become a Business or Credit Manager at several Enid establishments over the years. Betty met Joe Ciarla and they married in December 1954. In the early 1960’s, she slowed down from the business world and focused on raising her family. Five children, Waynetta, Cheryl, Janice, Steve and Andy were her primary focus for her life.
As the children grew up and left home, they brought back to her sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, cats and dogs. Her enjoyment of these brought many a pleasure to her life.
As life took a toll on her physically, she turned to creating crafts of various natures. The biggest pleasure she enjoyed was going to the donation centers and finding unwanted dolls and sewing unique outfits for them. She would then present them as gifts to young and old alike.
Betty become a resident of Garland Road Nursing home. Her pastime grew to fabulous artwork using pencil colors on wildlife and nature scenes. Her favorite colorings were of horses. She enjoyed giving these colorings to family and her various caregivers and their family.
As old age continued to hamper her independence, the Circle of Love Hospice care was needed. Betty’s caregivers were her “special friends”. Her family is very grateful for the professional and personal care given to her by these special friends at Garland Road and by Circle of Love.
As Betty breathed her last breath, she knew and trusted the Lord was ever with her and her family. She knew that even though she was to depart the earth, the Lord would continue to watch over the loves of her life.
Betty was preceded in her death by her husband Joe, her daughter Janice, her parents Joseph and Della McClintock along with her brother and sister.
Surviving children; Waynetta (Bob) Newsom, Cheryl Beck (Gary Bartow), Steve (Geri) Ciarla, Andy (Linda) Ciarla, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Per Betty’s request there will be a private family service.
