Claudie Pearson Christian Sr.

November 22, 1926 ~ January 28, 2007

Claudie Pearson Christian Sr. was born November 22, 1926 in Marlow, Oklahoma to Lem P. and Arialuao Townley Christian. He died January 28, 2007 at Marlow, Oklahoma at the age of 80 years, 2 months and 6 days.

A funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, February 3, 2007 at 12 Noon in the Whinery-Huddleston Chapel with Brother Sam Azritt, officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday and Friday, February 1&2 from 9 AM - 8 PM at the funeral home.

Mr. Christian grew up and attended school in the Marlow/Chickasha area. He joined the Navy in 1945, and returned to the Marlow area after his discharge. He married Estelline Kinney on October 6, 1947 at Gainsville, TX. Claudie worked as a self-employed farmer, with the civil service at Ft. Sill, and retired from the Lawton Public School system. He was preceded in death by parents, wife Estelline, daughter Virginia Arnold, 2 brothers and 2 sisters, and grandson Johnnie Surber.

Survived by his sons, Claudie P. Christian, Jr and wife Patsy of Cox City; Timmy A. Christian and wife Karen of Lawton; Teddy Mearle Christian of TX; and Eddy Earl Christian and wife Cathy of Iowa; daughters, Viola M. Bassett and husband Reford of Chickasha; Ethel Surber of Chickasha; and Patty Pylant of Lawton; four brothers; Henry, Clyde, Allen and Lee Roy; three sisters, Juanita, Ruthie and Willi Ellen; 18 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made in Claudie's name to the American Cancer Society, 1320 NW Homestead Dr, Suite D, Lawton, OK 73505.
