TEXICO, N.M. - Margarita S. Chavez, 72, died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2000.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Texico United Pentecostal Church with the Rev. L.L. Harris and the Rev. Mick Mounce officiating. Burial will be in Texico Cemetery by Steed-Todd Funeral Home.
Mrs. Chavez was born in Sena and moved to Texico 28 years ago. She was a homemaker, quilter and member of Texico United Pentecostal Church.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Johnny Chavez.
Survivors include her husband, Jose S. Chavez of Sena; three sons, Freddie Chavez of Farwell, Texas, Arthur Chavez of Texico and Dennis Chavez of San Antonio, Texas; five daughters, Lucy Madrid of Texico, Sadie Lucero of Villanueva, Charlene Sena of Grants and Rose Romero and Jeannie Chavez, both of Clovis; four brothers, Joe P. Sena and Florian Sena, both of Sena, Joe D. "Lolo" Sena of Beaver, Okla., and Ernest Sena of Albuquerque; five sisters, Celestina Sena of Albuquerque, Rosa Gallegos of Las Vegas, N.M., Eufelia Bustamante of La Fragua, Conferina Sena of Colorado and Pita Gonzales of Sena; 20 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
