Naomi Yvonne Chartier longtime resident of Ponca City passed away Friday, February 3, 2017 in Ponca City, OK. She was 78 years of age. Naomi was born on June 20, 1938 in Ponca City, OK, to Dorr and Opal Watson Lewis.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, February 10, 2017 in the Grace Memorial Chapel with Rev. Robert Montgomery officiating. Interment/burial will take place at a later date. Cremation arrangements are in care of Grace Memorial Chapel of Ponca City, OK.
Naomi enjoyed writing music and playing the piano and organ. During her spare time she also enjoyed baking, reading, and sewing.
Survivors include 2 daughters: Joy Smith and husband Doug of Glenpool, OK, Tammy Barker and husband Robert of Ponca City, OK; 1 stepdaughter Teri Busby and her husband Ron of Enid, OK; 4 brothers: Leon Lewis, Calvin Lewis, and John Lewis all of Ponca City, OK, and David L. Lewis of Tennessee; 1 sister Laverna Arriet of Wichita, KS; 6 grandchildren: LeAnn Berkland, Brenda Weygandt, Andy Smith, Emily Glaser, Audrey Barker and R.J. Smith; 1 step-granddaughter, Veronica Busby; 5 great grandchildren: Ethan McKinnis, Ike McKinnis, Robby Berkland, Christian Berkland and Jane Glaser. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
Naomi was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and 4 brothers.
