Thomas (Tom) Leon Charles, son of Maudie Evelyn (Young) Charles, was born on August 8, 1954 in Prairie Grove, Arkansas and departed this life April 12, 2021 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at the age of 65 years, 3 months, and 19 days.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Maudie Evelyn (Young) Charles, his daughter, Presley Gracelyn Charles and his brother, Daniel Edward Charles.
He is survived by a loving family that includes his wife, Lisa Charles, his daughter, Cassie Bradford, and his son Tommy Bradford, all of the home in Tahlequah, OK, his sister, Deborah Cox of Stilwell, OK, his mother-n-law, Carolyn Dillard of Stilwell, OK whom he called Memaw, sister-in-laws, Cathy Unger and husband Ed Unger and Donna Ledford, all of Stilwell, OK, nephew, Noah Cox, of Stilwell, OK, Brandon Dillard of Stilwell, OK, great nephew Peyton Solis, nieces, Alisha Wolfe Solis and husband Ivan Solis of Stilwell, OK, Kyla Charles of Texas City, TX, Kelley O’Neal of Tahlequah, OK, Holly Vanderheiden of Stuttgart, AR, Tina Thomas, of Eufaula, OK, Brittany Crittenden of Muskogee, OK, Kyla Unger of Stilwell, OK, and several great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends.
Tom was a city street and sanitation worker in Stilwell for twenty years and once he moved to Tahlequah he worked for the Tahlequah Humane Society. Tom was a loving husband and father and loved going to Branson with his family. He loved dogs and always had several pets that loved him in return. After his health began to fail, he kept in touch with family by phone and loved to talk to them often, especially his Memaw. He also watched a lot of movies that Lisa would check out from the library.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A Memorial Service was held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, April 22, 2021 at the Honey Hill Church, Stilwell, OK under the direction of the Roberts-Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
