Dorothy Jacqueline Charette age 83 of Lexington, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, September 15, 2018 in Norman. Dorothy was born November 8, 1934 in Great Yarmouth, England. She was the 4th child of nine children born to Frank George Horton and Dorothy Margaret (Alteridge) Horton. Dorothy grew up and attended school in Great Yarmouth, England. In the early 1950's she met a young man named Norman Charette, who was in the United States Air Force, stationed in England. They fell in love and on August 17, 1957 in Great Yarmouth they were married.
Norman and Dorothy together raised two children, Dale and Stacy. They first lived in England while Norman was stationed there. He later was relocated back to the U.S. and finished a career stationed in North Carolina. Dorothy and Norman lived for 45 years in the Dubley, NC area. Dorothy worked at home as a homemaker and outside the home as a Caregiver. While her children were growing up she was involved in all of their school activities, including the PTA and Horse Shows.
Dorothy was a fabulous seamstress and quilter. In 2006, they moved to Sallisaw, OK. to be closer to their daughter, Stacy. Then in 2010, she moved to Lexington, OK. While living in the Purcell and Lexington area she was a member of the Johnson Road Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by:

Frank Horton.
She is survived by:
Daughter,
Stacy Hill and husband Randy of Lexington, OK.
Son,
Dale John Charette and wife Julie of Hudson, OH.
Four sisters,
Margaret Jones, Shirley Watson, Lila Goodman and Wendy Hood.
Two
brothers, Claude Horton and Ivan Horton.
Two grandchildren, Michael Charette and
wife Ashley of Norman, OK Isac Charette of Columbus, OH.
And one
great grandchild on the way.
One step grandson,
Brett Hill and wife Stevy of Konawa, OK.
Three step great grandchildren,
Jackson, Cade and Sophie Hill.
Many nieces, nephews and other relatives
and friends.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel in Purcell.
Interment will be on Wednesday, Sept. 19, at 1:00pm at Ft. Smith National Cemetery in Ft. Smith, AR.
