Don Chappell, age 74, of Hugo, OK died Monday, February 16, 2009. He was born February 14, 1935 in Spencerville, OK the son of Morris B. and Mamie (Fatheree) Chappell. He married Jo Ann Buchanan on June 16, 1962 in Hugo, OK. Don and his late wife, Jo Ann owned and operated the Southeast Feed Store in Hugo, OK for thirty-five years. He served his country in the United States Army for four years.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Jo Ann Chappell,one grandson: Kord McAdams,and one brother, Bill Chappell.
Don is survived by two sons: Buckley Chappell and Tammie of Rockwall, TX, and Trey Chappell of Hugo, OK; one daughter: Kobi McAdams and husband, Jay of Madill, OK; one brother: Von Chappell of Cullman, Alabama; three sisters: Verna Robinson, Helen McGuire and Gwen McMillin all of Hugo, OK; five grandchildren: Morgan, Kennedy, Kyle, Kase & Bowen.
A celebration of Don's life will be held Friday, February 20, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home Chapel in Hugo, OK.
Visitation will be on Thursday, February 19, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home and from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the home of Turk and Verna Robinson at 212 E. Kirk, Hugo, OK 74743.
Family requests that donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the National Breast Cancer foundation.
