Private services to be held for John "Jack" H. Chamberlain, Jr., at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church.
John was 90 years old when he passed away quietly at his home in Guthrie, Oklahoma. He was born on October 20, 1929 in Omaha, Nebraska to John “Jack” Harold Chamberlain, Sr. and Geneva Mildred (Roland) Chamberlain.
On July 3, 1950, John married Mary Elizabeth "Lizzie" Mendietta in Los Angeles, California and of this union three children were born: Cecilia, Nick, and Mary. John and Lizzie moved to Guthrie, Oklahoma in 1991. Lizzie passed away on April 16, 1996.
John married Mitzi Annette "Anne" Anderson at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church December 11, 1999 and they remained married until his death. He called her Annie. They shared a wonderful life together filled with love, fun, travel, laughter, and devotion.
John was loved by all. A loving husband, father and grandfather with a wonderful sense of humor. Devoted to his church and family, he was a hardworking man of many talents: a rancher, a fireman, an avid golfer, a member of the Knights of Columbus, in his younger days – he and his father owned Geneva Petroleum Products, a proud Veteran honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy, a supervisor of the pilot station for the first 911 Emergency System in the USA, an award winning printer, who in his spare time wrote and published both poetry and music, played piano, had a beautiful singing voice and, as all of you who knew him well will agree, could throw a great party. Through it all, he achieved his utmost priority, he kept our family together through thick and thin.
On his office wall numerous medals, awards, and badges play tribute to his hard work ethic and mirror our pride in his achievements. In our hearts, always and forever, our love for him fills us.
Survivors include his wife Anne Chamberlain of Guthrie, Oklahoma; daughter Cecilia Burzycki and her husband Allen of Guthrie, Oklahoma; son Nick Chamberlain and his wife Patti of Guthrie, Oklahoma; daughter Mary Eck-Petrey and her husband Steve of Guthrie, Oklahoma, seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Chamberlain; his brothers: Don and Richard Chamberlain; his sister Irene Porter; his sisters-in-law: Virginia Chamberlain, Cora Kline, Virginia Fugit, and brother-in-law: Gene Fugit.
