Sukhminder Singh Chahal
October 14, 1935 ~ December 23, 2020

Celebration of life service for Sukh Chahal, 85, of Enid, will be Saturday, January 2, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. Arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory.

Sukhminder was born on October 14, 1935, in Khiva Kalan, India, to Sadhu Singh Chahal and Dilip Kaur and died on December 23, 2020, in Enid.

He grew up in India and came to America in 1956 to further his education. Sukh graduated from Yuba City College in 1956 and received an advanced degree from Indiana Tech in 1958. In 1960, he married Naomi Wiggins in Cincinnati, Ohio. They made their home in California, and his job took the family to Bathinda, India, for 2 years and to Santiago, Chile, for 2 years. Sukh worked for McKee Engineering and later with San Joaquin County Public Works. Following his retirement, they made their home in Stockton, CA, and eventually Enid in 2018.

Sukh was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Joginder Singh Chahal; and a sister Sukhminder Kaur Chahal.

He is survived by his wife Naomi; three sons, David (Lori) Chahal of Enid, Paul Chahal of Gardnerville, Nevada, and Victor (Mandeep) Chahal of Carson Valley, Nevada; three grandchildren, Sydney York, Dylan Chahal and Vikram Chahal; and two great-grandchildren, Ryan Chahal and Easton Chahal.
