Mary Ruth (Zamudio) Cendejas
August 24, 1921 ~ October 30, 2022

Mary Ruth Cendejas, 101-year-old Vinita Resident passed away October 30, 2022, at her home at Grand Lake in the Ketchum area. She was born in Placentia, California, on August 24, 1921, to Jesus Zamudio and Macaela Zamudio. She graduated from High School in California. On June 9, 1948, she married Trinidad Cendejas in Santa Cruz, California. Mary attended Cosmetology school and was a beautician for many years. She lived in California, Texas, and approximately 19 years ago she moved to Oklahoma. Mary enjoyed dancing and was a great square dancer. Mary listened to country music any chance she got. She loved her beautiful rose garden and her little dog Tillie. She loved the family all coming to her home for her 100th birthday party. Mary loved her family. Her children and grandchildren all had a special place in her heart. Mary will be missed by all who knew her.

Preceding Mary Cendejas in death are her parents, Jesus and Macaela Zamudio, a daughter, Carolyn Cendejas, one grandchild and a great grandchild, and 18 siblings.

Survivors include a son, Kenneth Cendejas, and wife Darleen, of Vinita, Oklahoma, a daughter, Lorene Cendejas, of Saginaw, Texas, a son, Vincent Cendejas, of California, five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, many other relatives, a special friend and caregivers, Mary Lou Birmingham and Lorene Cendejas, special caregivers that could be called on at all times, Barbara Chapman, Mary Seran, Merry Farrow, and a host of friends.

A celebration of life will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 11, 2022, at the Luginbuel South Grand Lake Funeral Home in Langley, Oklahoma. The family suggests donations to Good Shepherds Hospice Grove, 1120 NEO Loop, Grove, Ok., 74344-6046. Online condolences may be left at www.honoringmemories.com or see our Facebook page.
