Phyllis Jo Caywood
June 13, 1939 ~ September 14, 2021

The services celebrating and honoring the life of Phyllis Jo Caywood, 82, of Enid, will be held 1:00 P.M. Wednesday September 22, 2021, in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gary Miller officiating. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

Phyllis was born June 13, 1939, to Joe Jackson and Lee Avis Lassiter in Caldwell, Kansas, and passed from this life September 14, 2021, in Enid, Oklahoma.

She was raised and educated in Caldwell, Kansas, by her mother and Kenton McCoy graduating from Caldwell High School in 1957. She was married to Monte Caywood September 16, 1960, in Waynesville, Missouri, and began following her husband's military career and ministry around the United States, finally making their home in Enid in 1979. She became a Registered Nurse and worked at Enid Memorial Hospital for many years. She was a member of the Civil Air Patrol and enjoyed reading, quilting, and being around her family; she treated every child like they were her own.

She is survived by her children Sincerae Caywood, of Enid, Walter Caywood, of Hennessey and Marie Johnson, of Wichita, Kansas; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Jeffery Baker, Kent Denise Roberson and husband Jeff, and Jerry Sebring and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers-in-law.

Memorials may be made in her honor to the Oklahoma Medical Research Fund with Brown-Cummings serving as custodian of the funds.
