Anita Jo (King) Cawley
October 11, 1928 ~ February 26, 2018

Anita Jo Cawley passed from this life on February 26, 2018 at the age of eighty-nine years. A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Cross Pointe Church, 1807 N. Jardot Road, Stillwater, OK 74075 with Pastor Mike King officiating. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Anita Jo King was born on October 11, 1928 to Fred and Mary King in Morrison, Oklahoma. She was baptized at the First Christian Church in Pawnee Oklahoma.

A native of Stillwater, Jo attended Eureka School. After graduating, she went to work for Oklahoma State University as Operational Supervisor of Food Services for forty-two years. She loved working around young people as an encourager and role model. Jo was an advocate for special needs students who worked on campus under her guidance. She served the Special Olympics each year using her creative talents catering events. Among the many service awards she received, Jo was given the Governor's Award for Hiring Students with Special Needs. Jo's hobbies included: sewing, crafts, OSU basketball, and cooking. Her greatest joy was family.

Jo is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert (Bob) King; sister, Patsy Nichols and grandson, Chad Barton.

She is survived by one sister, Bettie Jones and husband Don of Tulsa, OK; three daughters, Shelly LaFave and husband Garry of Cashion, OK, Cheryl Lorenz and husband Jeff of Edmond, OK, Patti Selby and husband George of Weatherford, TX; six grandchildren, Jesse LaFave, Austin, TX, Jenna McCoy, Tecumsah, OK, Jordan LaFave, Austin, TX, Nathan Hufford, Nashville, TN, Abbey Watkins, Nashville, TN. and Clint Barton, Oklahoma City, OK; nine great-grandchildren; numerous nephews and nieces.
