Harold Lee Catt

Jul 3, 1932 ~ Mar 9, 2016

Mr. Harold Lee Catt, 83, formerly of Gallatin, Missouri and most recently of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away at 8:50 A.M. on Wednesday, March 9, 2016.

Harold was born in Kansas City, Missouri on July 3, 1932 the son of Charles L. and Hazel Marie (Masters) Catt. He married June Maureen Kouns on June 14, 1953. Harold served his country as a member of the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After being honorably discharged from the military, he embarked on a 38-year career with the Sears catalog distribution center with the bulk of those years being spent as a supervisor.

Having worked for so many years in Kansas City, Harold was enamored with the rural and relaxed life at Lake Viking. The 22 years he spent with his life-partner, June, in their beautiful lakeside home were among the very best. He thoroughly enjoyed fishing and relished the time sharing his passion with his two young grand-daughters when they would visit in the summer. Time playing cards or board games with friends and family could not be better spent.

A kind and gentle man, Harold was beloved by all who knew him and instantly liked by those whom he had just met. He was a meek and humble man who possessed a deceptively deft sense of humor.

Faithful to the Lord, Harold was also involved in the First Baptist Church of Gallatin, as both volunteer and deacon.

In every way imaginable, he was a good man who is now in a far better place.

Harold is survived by his wife, Ms. June Maureen Catt, one daughter, Sherri Wilt and husband Mike of Bartlesville, one son, Jerry Catt and wife Carrie of Kansas City, Missouri, a brother, Virgil Catt of Odessa, Missouri, a sister, Dorothy Betts of Odessa, Missouri, and two granddaughters, Miranda Wilt and Olivia Wilt of Bartlesville.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Journey Home hospice house, 3406 S.E. Kentucky Avenue, Bartlesville, Oklahoma, 74006 or to the Gallatin First Baptist Church, 511 West Richardson Street, Gallatin, Missouri, 64640.

Funeral services for Mr. Harold Catt will be held at 2:30 P.M. on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Gallatin, Missouri with Pastor Garrett Trunk officiating.
