Memorial services for James Edward 'Pug' Cathey, 74, of Allen are 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Calvary Pentecostal Holiness Church, Rev. Ronnie Snyder will officiate. The Navy Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the church.
Mr. Cathey died Sunday, April 19, 2015 at his home. He was born October 3, 1940 in Ada to Bill Oliver and Gladys Crites Cathey. He lived in this area all his life and attended Ada schools.
Mr. Cathey had been employed with Brockway Glass Company as a machine operator and later he worked for hotshot for Sundowner Trailers. He was of the Baptist faith and had served in the U. S. Navy.
Survivors include a son, Michael Cathey of Ada; two daughters, Debbie Sutton and husband Steve and Lesia Henderson, all of Ada; his grandchildren, Amber Gray and husband Josh of San Antonio, TX, and Shane Sutton and wife Kortney, Whitney and Dusty Rowland, Shayla and Josh VanHorn, Tiffany Cathey and Shylee Sutton, all of Ada; his great-grandchildren, Aiden Gray, Olivia Rowland, Aspen VanHorn and Reese Rowland.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Honorary bearers will be Richard Byrd, Charles Byrd, Roger Byrd, Steve Sutton, Jerry Bottoms, Wendell Raper, Charley Wise, Charley Carter and Johnny Brassfield.
The family says those who wish may make memorials to the Aspen VanHorn Medical Fund in memory of James Cathey at Citizens Bank and Trust, 123 W. 12th, Ada, OK 74820.
