Rick was born on February 9, 1964, to M. Ann Brian-Catcher in Wichita, Kansas. He went home to Heaven and in no more pain on January 1, 2026, after a long and hard-fought health battle. He was 61 years of age.
Rick spent most of his youth in Adair and Cherokee counties where his love of the outdoors was born. In 1990, he met and married Landa Gail Lacie. Shortly after their wedding they bought their current place at Rose. It was there in 1995, that Rick and Landa welcomed home all four of their children.
Rick loved his Lord Jesus and his family more than anything. His heart was to raise his kids to be able to always feed themselves no matter what their situation. Self-sustainablilty was one of his greatest priorities. Making sure he had a piece of ground that they could come back to along with the knowledge to be able to provide their needs from the that ground.
Rick became a master gardener and cattleman through the Oklahoma State University and a master beekeeper through Heifer International. Anyone who knew Rick, knew his passion was to grow vegetables “the way my Peepaw did”. He wanted to preserve as much of what God put into the food as he could, leaving out all the harmful, unnatural stuff. If Rick had his wish, every back yard would have vegetables growing in it and chickens running around.
Rick leaves behind: his wife Landa of the home; His children: Flecia, Brian, Austin, Ana, James, Kari, and Emily; His grandchildren: Klint, Caleb, Khloe, Melody, Eros, Abby, Cae', Ava, Colton, Greyhawk, and Kainan. Brothers and sisters: Louise, Terry Lee, Teresa, Charlie, Callie, Randy, Kathy J., Zane, Delta, Orvin, Kathy S., Dina, Roger, Miki, Beni, Fred, Kathy D., and Tim. God parents: Harold and Janice and a host of neices, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Rick was preceded in death by: his Mom; 3 brothers; and serveral other family members.
