Ronald Keith Castleberry, of Oklahoma City, OK passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at Baptist Integris Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK.
Ronald was born October 2, 1949 to Thomas David and Ruth Viola (Bearry) Castleberry in Stillwater, OK. Ronald attended school in Stillwater, OK. He married Leslie Ann Hendricks on May 13, 1978. He worked in the restaurant business for 35 years. Ronnie enjoyed cooking and eating, with a soft spot for hot dogs and eggs (usually separate from one another but not a guarantee). He was a low brow “foodie” before the term became commonplace. He held a strong nostalgia for colored “pop” and equated it with summers of youth and the 4th of July. Hence, the fridge was always stocked full of cold beverages for all guests. Ronnie was a wonderful father and “Poppy” to his grandsons. He loved collections of all kinds, especially sports cards, coins, and marbles.
Ronald is survived by his wife of thirty-seven years, Leslie Castleberry of Oklahoma City, OK; two sons, Ronnie Castleberry Jr. and his wife Sumi of Sand Springs, OK, and Garret Castleberry and his wife Binet’ of Yukon, OK; one daughter, Ashley Gardner and husband Cole of Edmond, OK; three brothers, Thomas Jr. (David) Castleberry of Edmond, OK, Larry Castleberry and wife, Dot of Quanah, TX, and Roger Castleberry and wife, Cheri of Amarillo, TX; two sisters, Vicky Castleberry of Amarillo, TX and Luana Castleberry-Brownell of Perkins, OK; three grandsons, Justin Castleberry of Seattle, WA, Noah and Eli Castleberry of Yukon, OK.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Viola Castleberry, an infant son, Rodney Frank Castleberry, two sisters, Cindy and Rita Castleberry, and one brother, Timothy Castleberry.
A Memorial service will be held January 14, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Sayre First Baptist Church officiated by Robert Lakey under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service. Condolences can be made online at www.whineryfs.com
