Mar 16, 1924 ~ April 5, 2004

Nora Mae Castle, age 80, of Bakersfield, went to be with her heavenly Father on April 5. A graveside service was held April 8 at Greenlawn Cemetery, conducted by Father Bob of St. Joseph's.

Nora Mae was born in Altus, Oklahoma, to George Polston and Annie B. Kearns. Nora came to Bakersfield in 1937 and married Harold Creighton Castle on June 7, 1943.

Nora is preceded in death by her husband Harold; her siblings, Tom, Clarence, Odell, and Pete Polston, Mary Vick and Fannie Moore. Nora is survived by her children, son Craig G. Castle and daughter Susan C. Hill; grandchildren John and Melinda Castle of Wisconsin, Leslie Lauritzen, Lisa Meraz, Elizabeth Healy, Beckie Rugno and Robert Winn, Jr., all of Bakersfield; and 12 great grandchildren.

Nora was surrounded by family her last hours and went peacefully. The family would like to give thanks to the loving and caring staff of Beverly Manor and the compassionate staff of Optimal Hospice. The family expresses our sincere appreciation to our many friends for their many acts of kindness during our bereavement in the illness and death of our beloved Mother and Grandmother.
