Byron "Kent" Casper peacefully left this world on September 12, 2021, with his loving wife and sister by his side. He responded to many names, "Kent", "Kent Honey", "little brother", "Grumps", and friend. He was born January 2, 1951, to Bill D. and Lillian (Cook) Casper in Fairview, Oklahoma, where he was a New Year's Baby.
He grew up in Enid, Oklahoma, and graduated from Enid High School in 1969. He went on to graduate from Southwestern Oklahoma State University and attended graduate school at Oklahoma State University. Stillwater is where he became a devoted sports fan. Kent worked in multiple industries, finding his niche as a rural letter carrier for the United States Postal Service. During his career with the USPS, he taught many years at the rural letter carrier academy, served as Steward at the Norman post office, and was an officer and active member of the ORLCA.
Kent had an appreciation for punctuality, reading, dry wit, a love for old sitcoms, computer games, exploring the internet, and most of all he loved being a "Grumps" to his precious grandchildren.
Kent is preceded in death by his father, Bill D. Casper, and mother and stepfather, Lillian and Charles Herring. He leaves behind his loving wife Kay Casper of Yukon; loving big sister Karen Casper of Dallas; stepdaughters Lindsay (Will) Biswell, Meredith Smith (Jason Dukes), Whitney (Taylor) Ellison; grandchildren Olivia Weems, Madeline Biswell, Caroline Weems, Cy Biswell, Emma Weems; stepbrothers Jerry (Sim) Herring and Kim (Joyce) Herring; step-nieces and nephews; many cousins; and friends.
