Esther Mae (Hyland) Carter

November 4, 1925 ~ February 21, 2004

Esther Mae Carter, 78, of Chickasha, was born November 4, 1925, in Huntington, Indiana. She died Saturday, February 21, 2004, in Chickasha.

Mrs. Carter lived most of her life in Michigan and Ohio.

She and Donald Carter were married December 5, 1943, in Portsmouth, Ohio. He preceded her in death in 2000.

She was also preceded in death by her parents Carol and Elena (Harnistt) Hyland, one son, Denis Carter, and one brother, Arthur Hyland.

Survivors include one son, Brian Carter of Flint, Michigan; four daughters, Donna Melton of Chickasha, Lois Harbaugh of Dayton, Ohio, Janice Evans of Crystal River, Florida, and Pamela Carter of Dayton, Ohio; 12 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Private family services will be held in Dayton, Ohio.
