Donald Reece "Duck" Carter

Donald Reece “Duck” Carter, 71, of Alex, died Saturday, July 13, 2019, in Norman. The son of Benjamin Reece Carter and Margie June (Bence) Rogers, he was born October 6, 1947 in Lindsay, Oklahoma.

He worked as a millwright for General Motors and retired after 28 years of service. Duck married Mary Sue Hurd on January 13, 1967 in Newcastle. In his spare time, he enjoyed raising game chickens and hound dogs. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, and fishing. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Duck is survived by his wife, Sue Carter, of Alex; his mother, Margie Rogers and her husband, Buddy, of Sallisaw; two daughters, Shelli Carter of Alex and Gina Hughes and her husband, Josh, of Alex; one son, David Carter of Alex; five grandchildren, Shaci Clack of Texas, Kierstien Shaw of Chickasha, Kylie Hughes of Lindsay, Audrey Carter of Chickasha, and Bayli Carter of Alex; one great granddaughter, Juliette Stumblingbear, of Chickasha and a great grandson on the way, Logan Reece Hughes; one sister, Diane Vaughn and her husband, Leon, of Washington; one brother, Jimmy Dale Carter and his wife, Brenda, of Catoosa; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other loved ones and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, July 26, 2019, at the Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel in Blanchard. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard. Online obituary and guestbook are available at www.eisenhourfh.com.
