Dorothy Mirl Hyatt Carter was born on July 19, 1918, in Ft. Douglas, Arkansas, and departed this life on Friday, February 22, 2008, in Prague, Oklahoma, at the age of 89.
Dorothy, the daughter of Joe Cecil and Beulah Elsie Smith Hyatt, had been a resident of Prague the last four years.
She married James Roy Carter in 1936 in Ft. Douglas, Arkansas.
He preceded her in death on June 30, 1994. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.
Survivors include her sons and daughters in law, Robert and Debbie Carter of Prague and Roger and Lois Carter of St. Louis, Missouri; twelve grandchildren, several great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, 26, 2008 at 2:00 p.m., at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel in Clarksville, Arkansas.
Interment will follow at Lamar Cemetery in Lamar, Arkansas.
Local arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague with Hardwicke Funeral Home in Clarksville, Arkansas conducting the funeral service and burial.
