Debra Kay (Lockeby) Carter
January 12, 1956 ~ September 28, 2022 (age 66)

Debra Kay Carter, 66, of Tecumseh, Oklahoma passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at her home.

She was born January 12, 1956 to Earl Stanley and Delois (Lowrimore) Lockeby in Midwest City, Oklahoma.

Debra was raised in Nicoma Park. She has lived in Tecumseh for the last 48 years.

She married Frank D. Carter on August 16, 1973 in Tecumseh, OK. He preceded her in death on January 15, 2021.

Debra worked for Pratt Foods Grocery for many years in Tecumseh and Shawnee. She owned and operated Bahama Beach Tanning Salon in Tecumseh for many years.

She was a member of Grace Community Church in Tecumseh where she faithfully attended. Debra was a devout Christian woman and loved her God.

Debra was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her family, going to garage sales, and loved animals, especially dogs. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Debra was preceded in death by her husband, Frank D. Carter; and her father, Earl Stanley Lockeby.

Survivors include 2 daughters and 1 son-in-law, Shawna and Chad Trahan of Shawnee, OK and Delana Moisant of Tecumseh, OK; 10 grandchildren, Gage and McKenzie Trahan, Cade Trahan, Ryen Moisant, Carter Moisant and Josh Goff, Zath Carter, David Allen Carter, Brooklyn Carter, Justin Lee, Trent Lee and Sasha Norton; 16 great-grandchildren; her mother, Delois Terrell; 1 sister, Suzie Terrell; 2 brothers, Billy Terrell and Ray Lockeby; stepchildren; Kelly and Jared Gibson, Kim Carter, Kristi Rawls, Karri Zito, Misti McGee, David Givonna Carter and Jarod and Shanda Hile; and other extended family and friends.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, October 2, 2022 at Cooper Funeral Home. Per Debra’s wishes no formal services will be held. Cremation arrangements by Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
