Memorial service for Douglas Alan Carter, 57, of Chickasha, Oklahoma will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 19, 2007 at the Epworth United Methodist Church in Chickasha.

Douglas Alan Carter was born March 12, 1950 in Syracuse, New York the son of William Lawrence and Martha Electra [Clark] Carter and died May 15, 2007 at his home in Chickasha.

Douglas graduated from Corcoron High School in Syracuse, New York. He attended State University of New York in Canton and received his BA in History from Western Kentucky.

Douglas received his law degree from OU. He was an attorney for the Social Security Administration in the Office of Hearings & Appeals.

Douglas served in the U.S. Army from September 8, 1975 to September 7, 1979. He was stationed in Germany.

Douglas lived in Chickasha since 1985. He and Donna were married August 29, 1987, in Chickasha.

He was a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church, the Oklahoma Bar Association, the National Organization of Social Security Claimants Representatives and the National Bar Association.

Douglas was preceded in death by: Parents: William Carter, March 17, 1957; Martha Carter, March 13, 1963.

Survivors include: Wife: Donna Carter of the home; one daughter: Courtney Carter of the home; one stepson: Aaron Smith of the home; two brothers: Dan Carter of Maryland; Roger Carter of New York; Cousin: David Wackrle of Syracuse, New York.

Services are under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
