The memorial services celebrating the life of Bobby Andrew Carter, 73 of Enid will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 6th, 2016 at the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Michael Frisbie officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date. Complete care cremation and services are under the direction Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
He was born to Alice and Juanita Carter April 9, 1943 in Enid and passed from this life July 31, 2016 in Enid. He attended Enid schools and went to work at an early age to provide for his family. He worked in residential, road and highway construction. He later went to work for Great Lakes Carbon as a young company and grew with it. He was the kill operator for 37 years. He always enjoyed trips to Vegas and playing cards. He was a National Poker Finalist. He married Alice Jones Shelite December 18, 1995 in Enid.
Bobby is survived by his wife of the home; son, Douglas A. Carter; daughter, Shelly D. Goodwin & husband Todd; step children, Mike Shelite, Terry Shelite, and Shannon Shelite; 11 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren.
Bobby was preceded in death by a daughter, Debrah K. Banie of Enid; brothers, Bert, Gary and Larry.
Memorial contributions may be made the Oklahoma Medical Research to the Heart Division or the Diabetes Division.
