Audie “AJ” James Carter, 19-year-old Fort Supply, OK. resident passed from this life March 20, 2020, he was born December 25, 2000 in Oklahoma City, OK. to Audie Wayne Carter and Kandi Townsend.
AJ grew up in western Oklahoma and attended Gage and Shattuck Public Schools. He graduated from Shattuck High School with the class of 2019.
AJ was active as a team member and as an individual competitor in the Shattuck FFA Ag Mechanics program during his high school years. During his three years of participation in the program numerous awards were received including: 2017 2nd high individual and 2nd place team OPSU Ag Mechanics contest, division champion at Oklahoma State Fair Ag Mechanics show; 2018 Shattuck FFA Sweepstakes champions at the Oklahoma State Fair and Tulsa State Fair, 1st place team and 4th high individual OPSU Ag Mechanics contest; 2019 Division champion and reserve grand overall at Oklahoma State Fair Ag Mechanics show, Woodward District Show Ag Mechanics division champion, Tulsa State Fair Ag Mechanics show division champion and Shattuck FFA banquet Shop Foreman Award. A highlight of his high school career was recognition by the Lieutenant Governor of Oklahoma.
Following high school AJ attended High Plains Vo-Tech at Woodward, OK. for two years. He received his 6G Pipe Welders Certification and was a member of the fabrication team placing 3rd at the regional contest. He was currently employed at Wyoming Casing of Woodward, OK. His special interests were fishing and hunting and spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by many who loved and cared for him.
AJ was preceded in death by his sister, Bailey Cheyenne Carter, grandparents, Sidney J. and Pamela L. Walton, Shirley M. Bain and Alton B. Carter. Three uncles, Danny Lee Walton, Edward L. Stanley and John Shifflett, two aunts, Kathy L. Stanley and Dorothy Wheatley.
He is survived by his parents, Kandi Townsend and Robert Petree, Jr. and Audie Wayne Carter and Blossom Lorraine Carter. Four brothers, Brian Carter, Zach Carter, Allen Petree and Austin Petree, four sisters, Briauna Carter, Jasmine Kraus, Jessica Barton and Cheyenne Petree. His grandparents, Robert Petree, Sr., Gail (GiGi) Petree, and Donald (Pawpaw) and Tina (Nana) Creed. His girlfriend, Iver Brunson, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, other family and friends he considered his brothers.
