Memorial services for Aubrey C. Carter, Sr. Were at 11:00 a.m. September 10 in the Visalia District Cemetery, Visalia, California.
Mr. Carter was born at Burneyville November 27, 1924, and died September 5, 1996, at his home in Visalia following a long bout with cancer.
Mr. Carter served in the Navy during World War II, then worked for the Tulare County Probation Department and was chief investigator for the Tulare County District Attorney's Office. Mr. Carter then branched out and owned and operated Carter Investigation and Security Systems in Fresno, Tulare and Kern Counties. He married Laura Riegelhuth in Tahoe in 1993.
Mr. Carter was a past president of the California Private Investigators Association and a member of the Visalia Elks Lodge and Grace Community Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Laura Carter of Visalia; two sons, Aubrey C. Carter, Jr. Of Bakersfield, California, and Scott Carter of Dundee, Oregon; a daughter, Chris Sullivan of Visalia; two step-sons, Steve Riegelhuth of Visalia and Craig Riegelhuth of Merced, California; a brother, O.J. Carter of Ventura, California; two sisters, Beverly Jessup of Visalia and Euna Jane White of Jimtown; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services were directed by Miller Memorial Chapel.
